The replacement of missing or lost teeth can be done by numerous different types of treatment. The replacement of teeth by means of using titanium or zirconium screws are known as dental implants. These screws are placed within the remaining jaw bones.
After the screws have integrated, a new dental crown or bridge are fixated (screwed) onto the implants to replace the teeth. Sometimes the soft tissue or bone are inadequate to facilitate the placement of implants and in these circumstances additional procedures would be required to augment the area prior to placement of implants.
